Statement of Faith

Compassion Bridges’ basis of faith is the Bible, which is God’s written word. The Bible is comprised of sixty-six books contained in the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is fully inspired by and through the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the final authority on all matters of faith and doctrine.

Compassion Bridges affirms the following:

1. There is one God, eternally existing in three persons as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

2. Jesus Christ is God, the eternal Son, the living word. Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered under Pontius Pilate, lived a sinless life, and freely atoned for sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. Jesus Christ arose from the dead through the power of God, providing salvation for all the elect. All this was done as the Scriptures predicted.

3. Jesus Christ will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.

4. Jesus Christ commissioned his body, the Church, to fulfill the Great Commission:

a. Making disciples of all people groups;
b. Baptizing them in the triune name;
c. Teaching them to obey all that Jesus taught and commanded;
d. All the while, trusting in Christ’s abiding presence through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit

Compassion Bridges, its Board of Directors, and workers further affirm the evangelical faith as expressed in the historic creeds such as The Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed.
